I get a access violation at 00401000 when I try run the setup
Close all online games you are running.
Oh, and we know your computer reboots each time you run ce with that game, so don't bother posting that

During setup I get a error about dbk32.sys that it can't be moved
Disable your antivirus. Some of them like mcafee and norton mistakenly detect it as mallicious software

Why does my computer reboot when I use it at the same time as "insert favorite online game here"
That is because they have protection and instead of just telling you that you have a hack tool they go berserk and reboot your system, ignoring any kind of write caches, and possibly corrupting your hard disk. Don't complain here, complain to the makers of those games

i get a differant error. in 5.3 during step 3 when i do the decreased value scan it says : error while scanning: access violation at address 0057FF44 in module 'Cheat Engine.exe'. read of address 00000000 ...can anyone please help me? Sad

every time i try to install ce it says "setup was unable to create the directory c:\program files\cheat engine.error 5:access is denied"

what should i do?

install a real os like windows xp (vista is just a sandbox you play in with little toys)
and make sure you are the administrator

I have had Cheat engine installed before, in fact about 2 days ago. I uninstalled it because I stopped using it and now only v5.0 will Install. I get an error saying.

I have tried everything I can think of and yes I have googled this it took me to 2 possible threads on the cheat engine site.

try running it in winxp compatibility mode and run as administrator
Also, make sure no online game is running in the background.
and disable your anti virus

I have no anti virus, I'm the only administrator, and it is running in Xp compatibility.
