most decent cards use dual slots for their cooling these days, if you mean 2 PCIe slots then no.

| I would get it if I had $500 to spare. That's the price of my desktop. It does pull some sick benchmarks. SLI two GTX 295s, and you get 80 FPS on Crysis Very High at 2560x1600.

the Ati Hd4870 X2 is still better coz it has more stream procerssors more memory and it is gddr5 and at the 295 it is gddr3 so i believe it is faster than the 295

nvidia is about to kane ATi and probably going to use physx to make all ati cards look like shit. i know this because i just bought an ati..

You have to divide the stream processors on an ATI card by 5, which means it has 320 stream processors. The GTX 295 has 480 stream processors.
While it is true that the 4870X2 has GDDR5, it has a 512-bit memory bus. The GTX 295 has a 896-bit memory bus and uses GDDR3. The memory bandwidth of the GTX 295 is around 10% less than the 4870X2.
The extra 256MB of VRAM the 4870X2 has doesn't help it beat the GTX 295.
The GTX 295 is the superior card.

30" screen...? one 4870 by itself is pretty much all you need. Crossfire (and the 4 slots it takes up D: ) is almost overkill unless you run a huge resolution.
My 4870 runs games fine at 1680x1050
