It's a shame, but things on the Canadian side are a bit more pricey.
Say you're getting the Q6600 to put into a Gigabyte UD3L P43 board (as opposed to P45). Go with the cheapest HD 4850 card and 2x2GB "not-so-special" Kingston DDR2 800 memory, you're around $535. Cheapest 20" (only one actually for the CA site) is 166.
All that puts you to $700 CAD.
Now you need a PSU, a case, HDD and DVD drive.

Bottom line is, you can't expect $750 to go so far on newegg.ca. I'd honestly recommend that you wait and save up a bit more before purchasing the components. It's better to not have to settle too much from what you planned on, otherwise you'll be disappointed.

Hmm would putting it up to 850 or even 900 be good enough?

The Antec Three Hundred is a good, inexpensive case ($60), then add a Corsair 450W for 83$, a DVD burner for $25, and 320GB HDD for $60. Now that we're not trying to find the lowest price for things, I put in the Powercolor 4850 (second cheapest anyway), which is only a little bit more.
I don't have a Newegg.ca account, so here's what we're working with:

Change the PSU to this. 750W is more future proof. PC Power and Cooling is more reputable than Corsair and makes better power supplies. They're also the same price.

No, the 8800GT is better. Just costs more. Check out other sites for pricing.
