Mmk, so I have a laptop that came with Vista and I want to install XP, even though Vista hasn't really given me any problems. I made a new partition and assigned it a drive letter and all that. But when I boot to the XP CD, after it loads all the drivers I get a Blue Screen Of Death. The disc isn't scratched at all and it worked fine about a year ago, hasn't been used since. Any ideas on what would cause this?
I have a Vaio FW140D.

If you did managed to install XP, finding drivers for your Sony laptop is like looking for a needle in a hay stack.
Even the drivers download from Sony's site for the specific model will result in a error message that says "The driver your trying to installed is not intended for this model".

If you did not delete Vista before installing XP, it is your own fault.
I did that, and I got BSOD very often, even though i had all my drivers.
The Vista and XP files mix together, and that fucks your computer.
Remove either XP or Vista, to get it straightened out.

You have to combine your SATA drivers with your XP cd using nLite
or put drivers on a floppy

What model computer (if OEM) do you have. If it's not OEM, what model motherboard do you have?

It is a OEM laptop from Fujitsu Siemens.
I know that OEM is the original stuff from diffrent brands, but what exactly does it stand for? Original Engineered M---- something?

Thanks.
Well, I would not go back to XP, but that is just me, i guess.
Seriously. Win7 owns Vista. Vista owns XP = Win7.
Even if it is beta, i like it better than Vista.
