There really isn't anything wrong with Vista, as a matter of fact. I've been using Vista since the beta days and so far not a single major crash. I've got a BSOD once or twice, but that's ATi's driver's fault with Windows DreamScene other than that Vista is a pretty good OS.
Windows 7 is based on Vista so hearing those who says Vista sucks blah blah blah I wonder how well their going to take on Windows 7.
For me it's Vista now, probably skip Windows 7, get the next OS after it.

If its the same as Vista then is it safe to assume that the features will be
the same (like in terms of files and where things are located and wtc like
that?)

windows 7 isn't fully supported yet obviously since it's only a BETA release
I don't know if drivers will be an issue but BETA's always have bugs so I'd suggest you just stick with vista, or better yet xp until Microsoft officially announces a stable release of windows 7

Most Vista drivers prove to work for the right version of Windows 7 (x86 to x86, x64 to x64 of course).

Well right now I have Vista but if its the same as Vista then Im probably
not going to get it. I had real trouble making things like Maplestory and
other games (esp MMORPG) compatable with Vista. Now I learned but
still...

If it's "the same as Vista" but with a more lightweight feel, a faster install, and generally faster (see Vista vs Windows 7 benchmarks), why not get it? D:

I've read on the net that people who buy OEM system between July 2009 may be qualified for a free upgrade to Windows 7 once it comes out.
Vista Home Premium>Windows 7 Home Premium
Vista Business>Windows 7 Professional
Vista Ultimate>Windows 7 Ultimate
This was similar to free Vista upgrade program.

I use windows 7 ultimate. There are no bugs except the fact that I can't run super antispyware.

I prefer Vista over XP
I installed Windows 7 in VPC, t's really close to Vista but it's performance is better...
When I install it on my External HDD There'll be an even better improvment in performance..
If you can wait thoo stick to Vista Until 7 is released obviously because of bug's...
I haven't found any yet...

For ext HDD. USB runs like molasses. You will need a eSATA drive if you want to run your Win7 OS.

None of my drives have eSata Port's...
I know I can buy a bracket for my PC and I know hot to install but der is no point if I don't have an eSata HDD...

I think you might want to go for Windows 7 when it is fully released, simply because there aren't as many compatibility issues when transitioning from Vista.
