Cheat Engine

Hi,

A friend's computer is infected with the 'antivirus 2009' virus. System restore and a normal virus+spyware scan won't solve anything.

Anyone knows how to remove it?

Malwarebytes's anit malware.

That malware is spreading quite fast. I got it the first day I got my internetz back.

Tell her to try using Spybot Search & Destroy (be sure it's the real one) and Lavasoft Ad-Aware Free and doing scans with those. My guess is that they'll be able to remove the malware.
Lots of fake programs and things out now, it's pretty bad. D:

It's not hard to remove at all. Boot into safemode and scan with Malware Bytes Anti Malware and whatever other AVs you have (I used Malwarebytes+Norton). If it doesn't allow you to install/run any of your antiviruses hook it up to another computer and scan the drive. Then put it back into your computer and scan again (to get all the infected registry entries, since it doesn't scan that when you have it hooked up to the other computer since it's not the active registry).

Does it spam, your deskopt with bullshit. LIKE " Download That, scanning for free" Remeber if it use your internet you can find it in you c/document and settings/Owner The users name/ localsettings/ Temp.

Push Ctrl Alt delete, go to prosses and look for something that should not be there. ~Tmpd.exe maybe, shutdown the prosses.

Now find the files in Temp and delete THEM...

I had that virus, Malwarebytes quickly removed it.
