For some reason, I had thought 4850s were more expensive... Top of newegg list was more popular ones, I suppose. Here's the normal Powercolor HD 4850. The 4850 also has a higher clock.

drop the 1tb, 4 gigs is enough, and the 4830 should be good.

i will need the 1TB since i have alot of music and movies on my ipod and i have tons of photos, extra 2GB memory is free since it is from my current computer which i wont need if i get those parts, i want a graphics card that can play things like crysis on very high settings without much or no lag. EDIT: well im done thank you karakawe and anyone elso who helped i will get the proccessor and Mobo karakawe recommended and the video card he recommended, i'll get the 4GB memory, 1TB Hardrive, The antec nine hundred case with power supply, and that will be my new gaming computer, one again Thanks for all your help.

what speed isthe old ram?
and if you want to run crysis like that on a $600 build on any monitor bigger than 17", then all i can say is  . |
idk abou the speed of my old ram, and its okay if crysis has some lag.

currently $500 video cards are shitting themselves over crysis at max settings on a 24 inch monitor.
and the old 2 gigs will slow down your new 4 gigs.

If you're taking parts from a pre-built computer, chances are the ram is clocked at 667MHz or less. The RAM you'll be getting for the build you posted is clocked at 800MHz. If you mix 667MHz (or lower) and 800MHz RAM, the 800MHz RAM will underclock itself to match the slower RAM.

If it's only a CD drive, you won't be able to install from the Vista DVD.

| I'm going to guess that it's Parallel ATA, the long ribbon connector inside. You should be able to use it on the Gigabyte board.
