About every 1-5 minutes I get a popup, its internet explorer and its just a ad
Even when i'm not on IE i still get it!
It's extremely annoying
Anyone got any ideas of what cause is?

Adware. Download an AV and it should detect it.

recently had this shit as well (two days ago or so)
I had a great help from opcode0x90, we solved it with process explorer, icesword and autorun. Although, be careful with those programs. If you do it wrong yo ucan fuck up a lot of things.

It might be virtuomondo
Try:
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
A full scan with Spyware Doctor.
A scan with ESET NOD32.
In that order.

I advise you to spend about $100 on KasperSky Antivirus. That sounds like a lot, but it is worth it. Of course, you can get it for free... if you know how...
