What's your opinion on it? I was going to get one for Channukah, but I have some questions. Is it possible to get one that has both Windows and the Linux Distro (they're using Xandros, I believe) on separate partitions for dual-boot? And if not, has anyone used the Linux version, because it looked really bad, I didn't even see a shell in there. And if I got the Windows version could I install Backtrack3 onto another partition?

I think there's tuts how to install OS by USB on an EEE somewhere, you could just format it and install windows (xp?) then w/e linux you want.

also, wtf is channukah?

lol.........it's a Jewish holiday, think of it as Christmas, but 8 days long, and only for Jewish people Wink

And there are tuts on installing on which I don't wanna do, but I would if I had to. And which would be better, the Windows or Linux version?

I'd probably put something like tinyXP on it.
(nlite one yourself would be best though)
on clean install it uses just 50-60mb of RAM

This is really simple. I'm not sure what the computers come with, but let's just start with a clean format (use a boot utility from somewhere).
Install a version of Windows XP (I recommend you use nLite or find a TinyXP Beast version on a warez forum or torrent). Use the full hard drive (one partition).
Next, install a Linux distro. Ubuntu is quite functional and very powerful, so it's a possibility. When you install (boot from cd, "Install"), you'll be given an option to resize the XP partition. The rest of the setup is a piece of cake.

Sorry I can't help you with Xandros, I have no idea about it. This is probably a better alternative, in any case.
