Hey, its me again.
I have another problem. I have to little space, just 10GB. Which should i get? External or Internal. My budget is $120 so i don't have much to spend on.
I might get money on Christmas and Chinese New Year though.
Opinions?

Internal= Fast, cheap
External= Can't really think of any pro's of an external drive. Only get one if you dont have room for another internal

This is ALL false.
Depending on the ports on the external hard-drive, externals can have EXACTLY the same speed as internal hard drives.
You also get the choice of mobility with an external hard drive. Basically a thumb drive except alot bigger.
With that money you can probably buy a 1tb external hard drive.

You're saying that internal hard drives aren't generally cheaper?

I never meant that they are cheaper, i meant that they are equally as fast (possibly)... You could have easily found this out by reading what i said.
Usually they are 20~ more (if you buy the HDD + enclosure separately). It is not that bad for 1tb of space you can carry around wherever you go!

What sort of interface would the enclosure have to prevent bottleneck compared to a similar device with SATA cables? I never really got into that stuff..

Don't you normally have like a lot of extra place for new HDD's? I have like 4 slots I think.. Although I want to get an external drive because it seems a lot easier.
I have a single HDD, but it's partitioned into multiple drivers.
Er.. not drivers.. like storage locations I guess.

Not usually. My machine is 5 year's ago mid-end.
I only have 1 slot for another SATA hard drive and 1 slot for a PATA.
I'm about to just buy seagate's 1.5TB for storage.
I keep reading failure stories and becoming paranoid, though.

Just buy an extended warrenty. On newegg it is the same price as a 1tb hard drive... So lets see
1tb with a reliable brand
or
1.5tb with a somewhat reliable brand that makes super quiet hdd (same price)
Like i said, extend warrenty and you will be FINE!
Also, newegg has been sold out forever... So if you find another site (in the US) that is instock, please tell me

If you buy an external drive, you could buy a case instead as they say.
You will find it abit slow (due e-sata is slower) but I still suggest internal drive.
