Tho that offer ends @ midnight

You should change GPU to either 4850/4670, depending on what you can afford.

What you gonna do with the computer?

Games, Ok then I suggest the E8400 instead.
Also if you can afford this motherboard:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4143791&CatId=1533

If you can't, then I suggest this one:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3952222&CatId=3790

And a 4850:

Ofc you can, but for gaming dualcore is alot better.

As you see there, Q6700 cost alot more then E8400 THO, its ALOT slower at crysis.

Its just recommendations.

You asked for it, I make them.

It isn't really, but lets say you buy a CPU for 140$,
thats a 3.0gHz dualcore with high cache, if you buy the quad for the same amount it will have less gHz and probebly less cache/core.

Depending on the game you're playing, you might get a noticeable performance improvement by switching to a quad core. Supreme Commander has pretty good multithreaded support, so you can really benefit from a quad core. So far, it seems as if it has the best multithreaded scalability in games. Obviously, you'll benefit from the extra cores if you're running a better-written application, and multitasking.

Older games (pretty much anything from before 2007) don't effectively utilize all 4 cores available, so performance doesn't improve. But because dual cores are usually sold with a higher clock, they usually perform better in those games.

Even those games that does support 4 cores (like crysis) its better with 2 cores. Just stick with dualcore now if your not doing any rendering/server work etc.
