i thought i'd make a list of some good online converters that people can use instead of download and installing programs. this makes it easier when you're on a computer with limited access or you're simply too lazy to install or have to buy software.

if people can post ones that they've got bookmarked lets try and make a decent list. the url and what file conversions it can do would be great.

Media Convert - Very good site for converting from and into a huge variety of formats. Includes converting files from either your hard drive or from a url. (thanks to cryoma)

Media Converter - This site lets you convert media from a wide variety of formats and from various locations. Includes a firefox add-on that you can download for convenience. (thanks to lunarhound)

Zamzar - converts from and into many formats. (Sends the converted file to you in an email)

doc2pdf - a great little site for converting word documents, excel spreadsheets and powerpoint presentations into pdf format. this one comes in really handy with school work for me.

Video Codezone - converts videos into multiple file formats and also lets you convert and download videos from a selection of sites.

i'll update this list with more sites as i come across them or as people post them
