One persons experience with one brand and model of laptop is hardly enough justification though is it. Look at the general recall of laptops from all sorts of brands not just Sony.

I had two from compaq, both presario.
Never a problem.
I had another one, dell, never a problem.
I also had another one that I had on constantly, NEVER A PROBLEM.
Laptop's explosive batteries are rare.
And @sup3r
So you're saying a desktop is better because a laptop has one cord from it plugging it in to keep the battery charged?
Just because of that a desktop is more portable? |
The things you gain with desktop:
- Bigger/better keyboard
- Better mouse (not totaly true but most people don't want to take with them a mouse)
- Possible to biggerscreen
- Possability to better hardware
- Possability to quiter
- Cheaper (a big point here)
@ cheaper, a half year ago my friend asked me if you could build a comp for him, so I built one for around 400€, with that it was:
E4600 (2.4gHz), 8800GT, crap chassi+PSU, okey motherboard.
CPU overclocked to 3.2gHz, GPU overclocked to 725gHz.
All original cooling, getting good FPS at crysis high.
If you would have bought (a half year ago) a laptop for 400€ you wouldn't have go even near the preformance.

I'm not saying it's more portable no, but laptops aren't very good gaming machines that's all.

I wanted a laptop because my mom likes to check if the com is on, so with a laptop i just close it a bit and leave it on because I do a lot of ACing, plus I want a laptop that will AC on 0 delay. I bet most if you can't AC on 0 delay.
