Hi guys,
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop connected to a Dell monitor. The view on the dell monitor makes everything HUGE like 2-3x bigger than usual. On some of the windows I can only see half of the window. Any idea how to fix this?
(btw my toshiba laptop's backlight is broken)

i suggest fixing up the backlight sooner or later, goto ebay and get one
you can fix the resolution for your moniter via desktop>right click>properties>settings
click apply so you can continue changing it without any problems.

I have no idea what size the monitor is, its thin and maybe a little more than 13x13
When I change the properties (right click desktop, properties, settings) the monitor turns off and I have to then turn off my laptop, and start it in safe vga mode..

it doesnt shut down, it's focused onto your primary monitor is your laptop monitor, so you cant see it. just shine a flashlight into your monitor to change it.
