				Problem 1:

Every other time I start up this laptop it refuses to turn on. The power light will blink retardedly [not a power issue] and turn off. I remove the battery and AC plug and put it back in. After that, it starts warns me that the CMOS' settings are now corrupt, reverted automatically to defaults.

If I set anything to anything other than the default, it happens and I need to do the above once more.

Seriously. I'm racking my head. What the fuck?

Problem 2:

All goes well and it boots from my CD [I intend to format with TinyXP09] and I select and begin to load up my setup of choice.

Fail. It eventually comes to a halt to tell me that my HDD is not connected, which is bullshit. I tested the HDD, its fine.

Problem 3:

Will not startup with any battery I try inserted. Will not power on with just the AC adapter plugged in. I need both at the same time for it to power on.

I got this for free, knowing it was fucked up... just not quite like this.

I don't have its specs.

Solution to problem 1: Replace the CMOS battery. Most likely it won't be the standard CR2032 battery like in desktops so it may be difficult.

Problem 2: had the same problem with my old laptop. Turned out the hard drive was in fact fucked, it would run just fine as a secondary drive in my desktop but you couldn't boot from it sometimes, other times it was fine.

Problem 3: board sounds like it's fucked entirely.

				Thanks for the help cheetah.

I've gotten more information.

As for problem 1 and 3; it IS a power problem. It won't charge ANY battery. The batteries I was using were dead. If I take a minute to charge them in my sister's lappy, it goes fine. Even it windows it says its not chargin the battery and running on AC power. Thing is, it won't BOOT on that power alone.

As for problem 2, FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU-
