Somewhat. But for 50 bucks, its nothing.

Super: Where do you think I can spend it to get better performance?

4870s

So would you say its better buying 1 Raptor and instead of the 2 graphics card just buy one 4870 X2 2GB

If you want bragging rights, go with the MTron Pro SSD.
Anyway there is a cheaper VelciRaptor but you sacrafice some space for it.

WD Velociraptor

2 of those cost $359.98 ($179.99each)
Since your running it in RAID 0 for performance then grab another HDD for storage because in RAID 0 mode there is no data redundency. If one drive fails then everything on both HDDs will be lost.

After you installed your OS relocated the default target location for your documents and so on to the storage drive.

For storage, this one should have enough space for stuffs
WDC 640 SATA3G

Edit: What's with the waterblocks for your gpus, you can't just get a waterblock and expect to cool it without using liquid, you'll need other watercooling parts.

It seems your desperate to give away that $1800. lol

for the performance gain i would say choose a 4870x2 or an nvidia gtx280
and possibly get a black box processor, full water cooling etc
then you have yourself an AWESUM GAEMEN RIG or tbh capable of anything you would ever need to do with it.

like i said before though it's your choice but 1 raptor for OS etc. and another standard HDD for storage would be fine

I'm not down for giving away money. Also, I didn't check the waterblocks yet. I was reading through the comments on Newegg and it said I needed more stuff. So I just didn't look for them yet.

I think I might just stick with the set up I have here. Except the water blocks. Might find something better. Don't feel like looking for all the parts.

If anything I think I might just use two 150GB Raptors and then use the extra 200 dollars I save and spend it on the 4870 X2 2GB instead of the other cards. What do you guys think? and for extra memory, I don't need it. If anything, I'll just buy an external hard drive.

FUCK I thought I responded here.

1. Ditch the shitty raptors, and just get a 640gb western digital. It's fast, huge in comparison and will save a shitload.

2. Q6600 + 120 Ultra Extreme + Good fan = likely absurd overclocks

3. You're probably underestimating just how fast the 4850 is.

$140 vs $250 (or $500+ for the x2)

66% price increase for small performance increase? Yeah ok, makes sense.

Here's what I picked out.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 retail
Asus P5Q-E retail
G.Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz retail (add 2 of these for 8GB of ram)
WD VR 150GB OEM (add 2 for raid mode)
WD 640GB SATA3G OEM (for storage)
Corsair 750w PSU 80Plus!
Lite-ON DVD writer SATA retail (add 2 of these if you want direct burning)
3rd party cpu cooler (Arctic Cooling)
Antec900 case

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Sapphire HD4870 retail

For a good 3rd party cooler that will fit on the HD4870 take a look at the ThermalRight HR 03-GT. Newegg does not have it, but a quick Google search show it cost around $50 bucks.
Here is a review on that cooler review

Microsoft Vista Home Premium 64bit

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Total including shipping is $1,628.88

Since you want 8GB of ram then a 64bit OS is required. Although I agree with what most of them says 8GB is overkill it also depends on what you use it for. Do you run Professional imaging programs like PhotoShop? If yes then go with 8GB.

If not then remove the OS, additional ram and graphic card and it
will bring down to $1,191.91 (including shipping)

Add this HD 4870 X2

and the final price including shipping is $1,746.43

Note some items include instant rebates and it's already subtracted from the final total.
Tax is not included in the pricing because the state I calculated from does not charge tax. Some States may require a tax charge.
