hello there
anyone knows the reason why the game (moorhuhn schatzjäger) always crashes when i click on a pointer and choose "find out what reads from this address" or "find out what writes to this address"?
if i do this on a normal address (not on a pointer) the game does not crash.
i try nearly all possible settings in the menu. with/without kernelmode debugger, with/without stealth mode, with/without many other settings.
i use ce ver. 5.4 with win xp sp3.

I cant tell you the exact reason but try this.
After finding what writes to your first address. Go back to your desktop without pausing the game.
Instead of finding what (Writes or Reads) the pointer, choose (find what accesses).
This way you can probably get the info needed without the need to even go back to the game. Maybe that wont cause the crash.

when using kernelmode debugging, and choosing "Find out what accesses" make sure it does not ask to attach the debugger.
If it does check the way you open the process. (do not click on attach to process)

thx
the option "find out what accesses" works fine.
but there is a other problem. now i have ultimate energy in this game.
in the moment i came in the next level, the game crashes. after restarting the game, i came in the next level and have ultimate energy again.
maybe i found a wrong pointer? or maybe every level has a different pointer?

it could be a wrong pointer, or during mapswitches the pointer is pointing to some random memory, and during that time it's overwriting random memory with the energy value (I usually unfreeze a pointer during map switches what this happens)
Perhaps try a different pointer, or do a combination with code injection

I get the crashes sometimes when i load a map while the pointer is frozen.
Try what DB mentioned and if possible, instead of freezing the pointer just write a bigger value without freezing it. That way the value can still change without the game crashing.
If you put that into a trainer you can just top up your energy when needed.
But as DB mentioned, i think code injection would be your best bet.
Check the tutorial section for that.
