At my school we have 4 types of maths (well in senior anyway)
Prevoc Maths
Maths A
Maths B
Maths C

Prevoc is for people who dont give a shit, its basically addition/subtraction and stuff you will need for a trade.

Maths A is Maths that you're likely to come across in real life. (Maps etc.)

Maths B starts getting theoretical, you do lots of trig, calculus etc.

Maths C (at my school must be done in conjunction with maths B) Is highly theoretical.
