So basically I'm trying to interface an old microwave with my PC for the hell of it, just a simple switch protocol to turn it on and off, but I was wondering if you guys had any better uses or ideas for the microwave.
And yes, I am aware of the dangers involved with messing with high voltage electronics.

So you want to be able to wire up your microwave to your computer so you can run a script in your computer to be ale to turn the microwave on and off and set the timer and stuff?

holy shit you can do that via usb? O_O wow i never knew sorry for randomness
edit: write up a order for the microwave so it can do what you want it to do.

That's the idea, but unfortunately, I can't really find the circuit diagram for the microwave without paying a ridiculous amount of money, so.. at this point in time I'm recording voltages with a multimeter to find out commands via trial and error.
And as for the usb connectivity, it's possible, but it's so much easier to do this via serial port.
