bad PSU, rosewill is newegg's shit brand.
Just get a 500w corsair or some shit and be done with it if you're going to be getting one. Get a QUALITY one. And don't look at wattage, rails are more important.

I am still using it and it is awesome all the rails are still at the same. I notice no differance from other brands than this one. I had limited money at that time and I plan to stay with it. I like rosewill's heatsyncs and psus (until one fails on me then i will change my mind).
If it fails within 1 year then I'll bitch and complain to rosewill and get a new one. Psh fuck it I say and pitch a bitch till they fix it.

Cleaned your list for readability.
You need more hard drive space.
Seagate Barracuda 1 Terabye 7200RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
Saf's Current PC Specs
- A8N-LA mobo
- AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
- 2 x 1GB OCZ DDR400 (PC 3200)
- 1 x 1GB Generic DDR400 (PC 3200)
- Rosewill RCX-Z940-SL CPU Cooler
- GeForce 8600 GTS 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI-Express-x16
- Rosewill RP550 550W Power Supply
- 250GB SATA2
- 80GB ATA
- ASUS Black DVD Drive
- Mini ATX Tower
- Microsoft Windows XP SP?
I do not want to get a differant socket motherboard cause
I have found a A8N-SLI Deluxe.
What case should i get?

Also, how in the hell is a 550 watt power supply overboard?? It's a bit lacking in features but NOT "overboard.

They use very low quality parts and a PSU is not something to cheap out on. Just because it hasn't died yet, doesn't mean it won't. It's not just a matter if the PSU dies, it's the fact that when PSU's go they generally take other things out with them. Is it worth risking a several hundred dollar build just to save a few bucks up front?
I've fixed a good 50+ systems with PSU failures, and trust me, it's not pretty. Of those systems, every single one of them had a crap PSU (Raidmax, Rosewill, Powmax), and the majority of them had other parts that were killed by the shit PSU. I've never seen a quality PSU die before the end of it's useful life. We even had a cheapo PSU blow up and shoot a piece of hot metal that almost hit one of the other technicians in the face, while simultaneously catching on fire.
Don't do it.

When buying power supplies, look at the weight. Heavier is better. It means they use more heat sinks and generally a higher quality build. This has been true for quite some time.

That's usually the first thing I look at in a PSU is the weight. However, it's harder to judge online because the shipping weight doesn't necessarily tell us much.

Well product weight on most site is listed and if not the manufacturers almost always lists it unless its an extremely cheap brand.
I usually recommend Sparkle power supply's.

I'd say you chose a very bad CPU. Intel is proven to have a higher quality. They are more overclock-friendly and they have a very good price.
