I think nVidia is hurting more with this generation than ATi was last generation.

I used to be an nVidia fan, but considering ATi's product lineup has superior performance at pretty much all price points, their multi-GPU implementation is far superior, and the price is right, I had to make the switch.

The yields on GTX2x0 chips are too low for them to be able to make a dual chip card, and since ATi's 4870x2 already destroys the 280 even with premature drivers, this could get interesting. Most likely, nVidia will start a price war and hopefully get us some cheap mid-range GPU's at least.

nvidia isn't going anywhere. They might be losing money now, but they sure as fuck can afford it right now.

AMD on the other hand needs all the $$$ they can get.

I wish their was another bigger company that wasn't so money hungry. Sell great products for less and more people will buy it so other companies will fail.

I dont think big companies are all about money... But a small company is easy to make their product cost less...

Smaller company --> Less workers --> Less expenses... ---> Items cost less

Big Company ( all companies want to be this) --> More workers --> More products --> More Buildings and shit --> More Advertising --> Shipping --> Expansion --> That cost more... --> Items cost more

a small company wouldn't dominate so fast, they would need to build up some sort of reputation.
i would be happy though if some small company came out of nowhere producing top of the range cards at budget prices

i think im havin problems with the defective card. my comp came with the 8600gt and its just having bad heaitng issues. I haev the fan cranking at 100% and its still at 61C-65C with no games...

58C is normal for me and i live in a place where it is around 21C...
