I'm making a program that implements linked lists to manage product information for a company and I worked out all of the errors. But all of a sudden I got a linking error.

LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'uuid.lib'

I happen to be on my dad's laptop using Visual Studio 2005 instead of 2008 if that somehow makes a difference.

look in the lib folder of your VS and see if it's there. Also google this error to see if it's 08's fault. Maybe you can just redl the lib

I found someone else that couldn't find uuid.lib in his VC folder either.

| I only get a fatal error like that looks similar to that when I have a file opened when it shouldn't be opened.

You need to fix your paths, uuid is not in the same folder as the rest of the platform SDK. You can find it at:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Lib
v6.0A might be different depending on your version. Add the above, with the changes you need for your system, to your library paths in your IDE.
