Hey, this summer my dad is offering me a deal to make him a website in return for a iphone
he is a lawyer

and i want the website to be something like this..

Do i need any server?
I dont want to make it from HTML,
is there like a free website maker or something??

Any thing you cna add to inform me on

Yes, but your dads a professional. I think he wants a professional website without ads and full admin control.Plus, i'm pretty sure he wouldn't appreciate a website with blah.f ree w eb s.com. f ree w eb s and other hosters may have like mysql, php, ftp but you don't get the full access.

He would need to pay a hosting fee and would also need to purchase the domain name (per year)

Something reasonable would be $5-$12 a month, like yahoo or godaddy.

As for the design, you can download Macromedia Dreamweaver and design it from there without even needing to code. All you need to do is know how to use Dreamweaver.

Just rip that site, and modify to your liking.
Also, you need a domain and a host.

making a website is very complicated. especially for a lawyer. i dont think u grasp the concept of making and hosting a personal website.

making a webpage isn't complicated at all, it's quite simple. if your new to making webpages then macromedia dreamweaver is quite easy to use, and that link you provided doesn't look too special, you should be able to make something nice by using that as a guide.

I think what some of the users were trying to say was... making a website, CAN be difficult, and there are a lot of fundamentals to learn before you truly grasp all there is a website is capable of....

That said, what your dad is requesting is an easy job. I can't describe it any other way. One thing you can do, is go up to the site, go to file, save page as... and then save a complete (emphasis on complete, make sure you select the complete extension under the file name..) website to your hardrive. You basically have all their work.... which was made on a website builder apparently...

I'm no expert at this stuff, but I think it'll be helpful to learn HTML. It's quite easy once you get the concept, I learned it in less than 2 hours.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but DreamWeaver is used for web development, 'putting together' the website with all the coding, right?
