When you use pointer scan and it comes up with several pointers.
Save the mem block or leave CE pointer scan window open and close the game.
Restart the game and attach CE back to it again, then on the pointer scanner window select the option to rescan pointers.
After it scans you will see the only valid pointers remain.
*If no pointers remain you are possibly getting a code shift.
So you will need to learn to defeat code shifting by using base address + offset using module names.
