im doing to main tut (the one that comes with CE) im on step 6 and i dont understand it

if someone could explain it that'd be great

if someone could make a video doing the tutorial so i understand that'd be even greater

Everyone had trouble with step 6 in the past, there's nothing to be afraid about it.
I suggest you NOT doing lab's step 8 since he did it wrong.

lab's step 8 is screwed dont do it. And everyone had trouble with step 6, even me.

There are several people who did lab's method without knowing it... including me... I had no idea he did it or anyone else. point proven step 8 is screwed, it teaches you about multi level pointers and simply labs method wont make you get any... Because I have read several tutorials

If you look at how the pointers are stacked out in that tutorial you would see them right off.
Very simple, but in real time you possibly wont see any like that.

For someone who comes to me for help, then turns around and say i did something wrong is kinda shitty dont you think?

The instructions of the tutorial tell you how to do it you people would read.
I was showing the pointers stacked up in memory. Anyone with some basic assembly would have seen it. It was Not a complete method by looking in hex scan for each one until you reach the final pointer.
This has already been discussed long ago, and a long version of the tutorial was written out by a friend of mine.

The post was way back in 2007, I'm just saying don't follow labs method because you can't get real multi level pointers that way your version is just a way to pass a tutorial, and I did it... but then I got screwed and didn't know how to do multi level pointers because I did the same thing you did and didn't get an address... eventually everyone will have this problem... and make new topics to ask... just like this one.
Even you agreed it wont help you in real term... but the tutorial is supposed to help you in real term Wink
