Guys (and possibly one or two girls) , i just got a new laptop.
And the sound is really messed up.
It says that i have no speakers or mic, which is a lie because its a laptop.
Can someone help me?
And another issue.. is there any way i can change the computer language?
cause my computer is in korean, and i'd like to change it to english.
And help would be appreciated.
And don't say its unrelated cause for all you know i need the sound to play MS.

O.o what do you mean its not off topic? it's totally off topic?!>!>! So you decided to come to a hacking forum to ask about OSs and Drive malfuntions....[nothing to do with ms]
Now to be a bit more useful, go search it up in google, otherwise 9ifyou bought the laptop in australia) [i'm guessing here] you probably need an english OS. From my experience theres really no way. THere might be a way to change language settings that i havn't found out, but i think it would be better if you got an english os. Your sound problem is proably because of your OS, you can look for a driver, OR SEARCH IT UP SOMEWHERE ELSE BUT HERE.

Tell us the model of your laptop & malfunctioning hardware. And about the laguage thing, I think windows has hardcoded language. (Or they wouldnt sell them seperately).

See if that makes sense / helps.

Yeah, reformatting the hard drive is gonna magically give the thread starter speakers.
Are you sure your laptop actually has speakers? Give us the model and we might be able to help you.

What I meant was to change language from Korean to English like he said.

So what i mean is when he reformats his HDD, he can choose what ever languages he wants. That's the only way I know how to change laguages but im sure there is another wit out reformat, i think in control panel or sumtn.

Control Panel > regional and language options, when asked insert your OS disk
