Lots of parents have certain websites blocked.
Lots of schools/libraries block EVERY website but a select few.
Follow these simple steps to victory.

1. Realplayer.
2. Notepad/Paint.
3. Disabling your blocker.
4. Bypassing CMD block.

1: Realplayer

Realplayer has a built in browser with no way of blocking websites, 95% of new computers come with Real, regardless of PC or Mac.
Simply open Realplayer and direct it to Real Guide.

There's a address bar at the top, you're home free.

2: Notepad (Or paint or stuff like that)

If you don't have Real..
Open up notepad (I recommend it over paint cause it uses less RAM).

Go to help.

Choose help topics.

Right click on the help topics title bar and choose jump to URL.

Put in the EXACT URL of the site you want to go to.
You can't just write blah.com it has to be http://www.blah.com or it won't work, got it?

???
Profit!

3: Disabling your blocker.

If you know the name of whatever program is hindering your browser experience, then you can probably kill it.
Start>Run.
Type "regedit".
No "s.
Duh.
It should bring up HKEY_CURRENT_USER if not open that.
Go to SOFTWARE.
Look for something with the name of the program or the company that made the program, highlight and delete.
May or may not work.
If BSOD then, meh, schools loss.

4: Bypassing CMD block.

Quote:
If you manage to open CMD on a CC3 computer and it says:
"Command prompt has been disabled by your administrator."
Or something of the sort....
Try making a shortcut and make the path:

REG add HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System /v DisableCMD

Once the shortcut is created, double click it. It should ask you a Y/N question, hit Y then enter.
You have to click this shortcut everytime you login to CC3 for CMD to work.
Once you logoff, it will reset again.
It edits a registry which has blocked CMD from opening. This is enabled on our school computers so we have to click the shorcut before we open CMD everytime we logon.

Another thing that you might want to do is open notepad and type in anything, then tell the computer to shutdown. It will start to shutdown and ask if you want to save or discard the changes in notepad, say cancel, and it will abort the shutdown. That should cause things like monitoring programs to close, while still allowing you to be on the computer.

Doesn't always work, when I do it I just get a load bad saying "Shutting down notepad.exe" and then it turns off.
Regardless of saved changes.

From what I can see, my school is locked down like a bitch.
They removed paint and notepad shortcuts, no access to regedit or run at all. Hell, I can't even change the clock. We do use a C++ compiler there though, which has a browser. Sadly, the sites are still blocked in it.

I can't use the run command at my school either, but I think I can basically mimic that with command.com in a .bat file.
