Quote: | The point of the section is for advanced code, not basics of a language. And a webbrowser using an already made control is not spectacular either, sorry.
And we can do without the text size, color, bold crap as well. |
What qualities do you expect? (I mean everything exept above listed)

Advanced programming is usually something orientated more towards tasks that aren't easy for the average programmer - such as hooking, memory editing, application construction, inter-process threading, large collections of diagnosis/analysis, AI and so forth (these seem simple enough to me, but to others it may seem difficult).
I'm not completely correct, as it really depends on the person who is coding and their current level of understanding. Making a hello-world program for a complete newbie would seem advanced for example lol.
It could be safer to say that it depends on your experience, but that's not always true - there are some people who learn a lot faster than others.
2 years+ experience would be average for people who generally have a normal learning rate to call themselves experienced programmers.
Just my opinion though, there will be others.

Estx: The group is closed meaning that no one can apply through the forum system. (phpBB lets you "apply" to become a member of a group.) It's just turned off so group leaders don't get spammed with PMs with requests to join. Easier to do a topic like this.
Verlan: The section is set towards more advanced this, bypasses, major applications, things that will better other programs and help others learn better methods / techniques and such. Visual Basic is not one of those languages that fit into the category. Let alone VB.NET.
While it isn't really my say who gets in and such, I would suggest if you wish to apply to join the section, show something major and not just a basic webbrowser that anyone can make following a small 5 minute tutorial.

Wiccaan and Estx thank you for making me clear about what you expect me to know. I can do programming even though I am not in college.
I am not advanced enough to discuss these things, but I will be in a few year after I joined my computer science course at a college.

I can program in C/C++, Visual Basic (my non-cracked copy, lol), AS1/AS2(Flash), HTML/XML, Javascript, Ruby, and more.
I can do about anything anyone else can in flash, because I can program with it too. I am learning alot of C++ now, I can make ram editors... And if you want some samples PM me. I don't post much... I should start doing that more...

Hey Zenx!
I can code in C++, C#, Java. My special area is c# I guess. I've also made some sql injections back when not every site was secure.

A lot of that stuff, I agree on, except the time of experience. So far, I've only had about 8-9 months of programming, tops. I started in the summer of last year.
All that really matters is how much effort one puts into it, and how much time one has to offer to it.

I'm pro at AS2, mediocre as AS3, and superb at Flash in general.
And recently I bought some books on C++ and AS3 (and 3ds max but that's off topic) which I am teaching myself.
