I thought i might share it with you because
1) It can help people who have Intel mobos and cannot OC (aka pre-builts)
2) I am going to do this myself!
All you have to do is tape one pin on a Q6600 CPU... You have to tape it with black electrical tape, fail to do so, and i cannot warrant the safety of your computer...
Anyway here is a picture of where he placed it:
As you can see that this is VERY VERY small... He estimated it to be about 100 atoms by 120 atoms... I dont know how much truth that holds, but who knows?
Going to try this when i get time... Enjoy!

Errr bam, give more info, like what that actually achieves? And why it would be necessary to be able to overclock the CPU.
Coz, after all experience with Intel Quad-core CPU's i've never had to do anything of the sort. And hard-modding the CPU is risky.
Plus you haven't even tried it yourself... I would suggest not posting stuff like this as its not necessary and like I said, you haven't tried it mate.

This MOD is also called BSEL Modding. This modding changes the native strap of the processor by 1 level(200->266, 266->333) without increasing vcore or whatsoever voltages.

Ah I see.
I can't say i've used Intel like I have AMD, so those sorts of activities have never been my way :p
Bam, let us know how you get on and what you get it O/C to stabley

Well my friend (who is helping me OC the right way, which is a little harder than 1 would think) told me to set a base temperautre for both of my processing units... So when i OC my computer i can find out how high my temps went up, and how i should handle said problem... so i wont get to test this today
Also, this is not risky at all... The electrical tape is ment to not allow eletricity to flow between two objects... (in this case, the CPU and the motherboard...)

Let us know what results you turn out bam...its interesting

I'm curious also, because I've looked at guides on how to OC, and I honestly just do not have the time to go through all the different combination and find the fastest and most stable setting. So if this causes the CPU to run faster without having to mess with FSB and mult, I might do this one day.

It seems kind of pointless to me for Intel to add a pin that does nothing but slow your CPU down.
Anyway, good luck with your modding. But there's no way that's 100x150 atoms.

I think the guy was just exagerating....
Anyway, that pin could make the CPU stable... who knows? Going over the limit is not always a good thing.

That's business.

The pin is like 1.5mm x 1.5mm.

My point is don't say stuff you don't know. This mod wont spoil the processor.
