I have tried to set up Xbox Live, but theres a problem.

I connect the Ethernet cable from my xbox 360 to my laptop, but even when the internet connection is perfectly fine, (I have wireless if that matter's).

It says it can't find my IP address, how can i fix this?

All help appreciated,thanks.

Try changing the MAC address to the one on your computer.

Go into the network settings, and look for MAC address. Change the MAC address to the one on your computer.

I don't think anything is going to help. You need a router or a modem. You can't connect straight from your laptop.
At least not that I know of.

wat i got is,

i got wireless connection to my own computer
and the xbox connected to my own computer
then under networks list, it should show the wireless connection and the ethernet cable to the xbox, all i done is highlight them both and click 'bridge connection'

its slow though and some times i have to click the bridged connection and deactivate it and activate it to make it work, sometimes.

hope that helped

You should probably just plug the ethernet cable from your Xbox360 into your wireless router if you have more than one ethernet plug on your router[most routers do].

The Ethernet cable can't reach the hub, It's downstairs and my Xbox and laptop are upstairs. (My whole family use it so I can't move it.

Well what i did for my computer since i wanted it to be connected through ethernet, not WiFi. I rode my bike to Staples, bought i think like a 20-30 foot ethernet cable.Rode back home, all in all it took me like 30minutes there and back. Connected one end of the cable into the router, brought it into my basement, ran it along the cieling and up into my room and into my computer......I think you should do that except plug it into your Xbox360!

Or just get the wireless adapter.

And I think you are talking about bridging from your laptop to your Xbox 360.

TONS of tutorials on that around the web, just google "Xbox 360 bridging"
