Pretty decent.
Just make sure you use a 64-bit OS or you won't be able to utilize all your RAM. |

For just a little bit of lost performance, you could save over $100 by using a 9600GT instead of an 8800GTS such as this one.
EDIT: Oh, right, and you forgot an OS. |

Nice system. Tossed out the money in the right places. Can't do much better than that. 9/10 in terms of performance, everything else, 10/10.
2x 9600GTs probably do have more power than 1x 8800GTS 512MB, but still, it's a pretty good system on its own. |

I'd drop the 750w psu and go with a 600w.
I'd also drop the CPU and go with the unlocked multiplier 2.66 one, and overclock to 3.0 or 3.2. _________________

Yes, you are right about the PSU, you could probably even run that system with a 350Watt PSU.
The E8400 can usually go to 3.6GHz on stock cooling, above 4.0 with aftermarket air cooling, so it'll probably do better. There is no Intel Core 2 chip clocked at 2.66GHz with an upwards-unlocked multiplier. |

Nice, I would pay that kind of money for it. I would rate it 8/10. |

no... the graphics card alone needs 400w |
No, what that is is the recommended PSU size for the whole average system. |

An Intel Skulltrail system with 2x Intel Core 2 Extremes and an eVGA GeForce 8800GTS only required a 425Watt PSU, but Intel recommended 1200Watts. But it's a good thing to have some clearance. |
