How can i check if my pc overclocks. I remember #CEF in irc told me that AMD processors overclock by default, so i was wondering how i can check and/or lower that?
<don't edit this back again..>
oh btw, i just hit 60 C on my processors but that could have been from hosting 2 Virtual machines.
I turned 1 off and i am at 55 C

| They lied, AMD's don't overclock automatically... The only way it's overclocked is if you did it yourself.

AMD processors are not overclocked by default, the just are viewed as a higher GHz than they really are to compare with Intel.

Hmmm ok, also i figured i should add this in. I just did the little cpuinfo1.3a program.
2.611 MHz
Speedfan says:
HD0- 43C
temp1 - 33C
core - 55C
Is this normal stats?
Edit: Madman that was a joke because he told me not to post/ask for warez in IRC

Constantly eating CPU at 100% usage is going to heat the computer up, the more the computer works, the more it will heat.

Depends on how long you've run the computer, also what stuff is in it, fans etc.

Overclocking is no "fun thing to do" you can seriously mess your pc up..
Dont do it if you dont know how and what the consequences will be..

Ok Mr. Expert.
Yes, overclocking will KILL AND EAT YOUR COMPUTER FOR BREAKFAST.
[/sarcasm]
Basically, if you bought your PC from a crappy prebuilt manufacturer (Dell(Some exceptions), HP, eMachines, etc etc etc) you will not be able to overclock.
This is because they put shitty motherboards, power supply's, and cooling in your computer, which are the three vital overclocking components.
And NeverForgotten, you have no idea what you're talking about. Overclocking is not hard (If you have a brain and a decent computer), and guides on doing it, along with an infinite amount of other hardware information can be found here.

No, no it's not gone. It's going to crash / reboot itself unless you decided to ramp the voltage up to stupid levels all at once like an idiot.
Worst case is it doesn't boot so you reset the CMOS and all like magic, it all works again.
mhz aren't going to do shit, voltage is what kills them.

Alright, successed in 3.92ghz @ 1.4vcore in BIOS/1.38vcore in BIOS reading/1.36vcore in CPU-Z reading. But I only did 3DMark06 and CPU-Z validation and nothing else. The temp was quite high around 50'C in BIOS reading.
