how come there are prices that range from 30 bucks to 150 for 1 gb of ram? and if i bought the 30 dolllar one would it make much of a differance>?

well anywayz, that computer is like ancient! lol, even my old piece of shit is better than that! and it still is horrible and really slow...
My advice! stop being stuck in the 1990's(in terms of computer speeds)
Sell one of your condos, and buy a computer WITH ALOTTTTA RAM!!!!
RAM IS MOST IMPORTANT, its what I've realized really speeds up the computer a ton! I wouldn't settle for anything less that 4GB RAM
then processor is next in importance, but not as much so as ram, as long as its a new processor above 2 GHz youll be fine...(can't buy a new computer with any less than that anyway these days)
then hard drive space, get the most you can!
then usually the default graphics card will do just fine, unless u can afford to upgrade that too 
Those are the important things needed for a fast computer... once you go 4 gig you never go back 
some of the ram is reserved so it only shows 3.62
