AVG Free Antivirus and Zone Alarm Firewall.

I use those at my home, no infections/intrusions since I've gotten them.

Firewall are all basically the same, it's the Anti-Virus you wanna worry about, Firewalls just stop in-coming connections ect.

No infections for me yet without using a Firewall. I uninstalled my AV for a moment to see what would happen, and when I installed it again it showed no vulnerabilities whatsoever.

Conclusion is, just don't do crap and you don't need shit.

avast free antivirus is better than avg, why? simply because it has 7 real time protection shields which detects many things. As for firewall windows firewall is good enough, its optional to get a 3rd party firewall like comodo or zone alarm. As for antispyware get superantisypware, its one of the best free softwares out there.

I recommend any freeware anti-virus other than Comodo's. (With around only 30% detection, I wouldn't never use it.)
