I don't think anyone in thw world need an 80 core processor, although it would be nice to have every MMORPG opened at once.

Google probably have way more processors than that, they have like those IBM CPU's that are used for huge servers. I'm not sure, I just recall this from seeing something on tv

That is fucking huge... No way it's gonna fit inside a PC. It would be really hard to cool it down.
Maybe in the next decade, we'll have software that runs 80 threads at the same time

A process can hold a maximum of 2028 threads at once.

That is if i understood it right. Now was he saying 1 chip could teraflop or a wafer?

1 chip can TFlop.
The wafer he is holding is appx 60 chips.

It might be pratical for home use if they can reduce the production costs to hardly anything in the next 10 - 20 years who knows 20 years from now we might be looking at processors that can do a Pflop aka Petaflop. I cant wait for a revision of the internet since i remember reading somewhere that some one was working on a internet that is much much faster than the current standards.
