Hey, I download a video that came in the extention .mkv, which windows media player does not support. Anyone know how I can watch it?

just go get media player classic or VLC, i'm pretty sure they will play it with no codec muss or fuss.

media player classic is just as good as VLC, it comes down to opinion really.

New problem, I just noticed that the sub titles aren't showing. I'm not sure if this is the media player or they weren't added to it.

I think you can activate subtitles in the Settings->Preferences tab in VLC. Look around and you'll find the subtitle thing.

check if you have a .srt file. That's the file type for subtitles. And it has to be the same name as the movie file.
