Kaspersky leaves a huge memory footprint in your computer that will be there permanently (until you reformat), slow real-time scanning.

BitDefender is buggy, nothing else really to complain about.

Avast is OK. Nothing too much to complain about, but they could work on detection. Cool

Avira has poor unpack support and self-protection.

ESET/NOD32 has poor heuristics and detection, newest version is heavier than previous ones.

TrendMicro has piss poor support, not that great of detection.

OneCare is really improving (hiring some of the best virus analysts from around the world), and I expect it to be top-notch later in 2008. Not too many features, not too configurable, but that's understandable because of what audience it targets.

McAfee is resource heavy, but getting better every year.

Norton's new version, 2008, is a HUGE improvement. Really light, and good detection. I actually recommend Norton for once.

There's others that I forgot about, but yeah, just choose which one works best with your computer. There isn't a best one.

I recommend BitDefender. Kaspersky did not detect spyware and the spyware lead to virus/trojan and so on. However BitDefender did detect. I recommend BitDefender,Pc-Cillin(Trend Micro) or Norton 360. Razz

ESET is a reputable security software company, and all of those details are true.
