It's been a day that the 8800GTS 512MB has been release and reviews have appeared on the internet.
| Quote: | | Overall, the 8800 GTS 512 is definitely competitive with the 8800 Ultra, however there are definitely cases where the raw memory bandwidth of the Ultra's 384-bit memory bus just can't be beat. If you've got an 8800 Ultra, feel threatened, but there's no need to worry about replacing your card. And if you're somehow choosing between the two, the GTS 512 comes close enough overall and for cheap enough that you can afford to skip the Ultra...or at least buy two GTS 512s. |

Amazing card for the price, the only thing holding it back is the memory interface and the amount of memory. Then the 1GB comes out, it should it should perform even better in high resolution, but sadly it will still have a 256-bit memory. Oh yeah, did I say it only costs around 350USD (MSRP )? And it should drop the prices of the GT to the normal range, ~250USD.
Still, no 8 series can support max IQ with high resolution, with good frames on Crysys, I'm waiting till the 9 series.

My buddy just ordered this card, sold his SLI 7800's for it.
Also, benchmarks really need to be in MAX, MIN, AVERAGE format, more sites need to do that.

I brilliantly quoted the entire thing at first and realized it was a terrible idea to quote it because it was so large.

It is going to be expensive? If it is, getting the affordable 8800GT is a good choice also.
