Does the motherboard limit what OS you can install?

This pc will only let me have win2000 even though im using my xp hard disk.

No, you can install any OS on any board. What type of processor are you using?

Does it limit how much hard disk space your pc can have? Because it wont read my 80gb hard disk, only the 8gb it had.

If it's a really really old computer then yes, some of them had BIOS limitations on how big of a hard drive it can address.

It sucks. I have a xp pc that can read it BUT it has no onboard monitor plug. And appearntly theres no drivers for the plug in one. Can you help with that?
