| I suggest getting into windows in Safe Mode and see what you can do. I don't know if anyone else suggested.

he cant get into windows any which way and he told me his cd-drive is not accessable,
he's having trouble making it the first boot device,
and yes I think he had access to a second pc over the weekend but he seems to have gone quiet so he may not be able to get on here at the moment,
I have a suspiction that its his master boot record that is messed up rather than windows itself,
so he might just need to repair that, as long as it was not all caused by a virus,
its difficult to work out remotely what is wrong with someones pc isnt it,
I like to start the thing up listen for any beeps and pull all the hardware and cables around,

DAMN. I still can't get it fixed and yes i have another computer but this computer is really slow.
The computer can't load windows
The computer can't load safe mode
The computer can't Boot cd
The computer does not have floppy disk
The computer can't do anything but access the BIOS and the Boot menu
i have made the cd drive the first boot but when it starts up a error message appears saying No boot device available
This computer did work before PERFECTLY. Cd drive and everything worked
I have a windows xp cd
Please help with details don't tell me too... take the computer apart and do this and do that without telling me HOW to do it.
The video card and everything worked too.
I might upload a pic with the computer and bios screen.

well I'm stumped
no floppy to run a boot disk
no cd drive working to repair or intstall
try that hard drive diagnostic tool in the bios
cant you just take your hard drive out of the pc tower,
put it into your other working pc that your using to post here
and install windows or see if you can use the windows repair on it from there,
put if back in your pc and see if it will work again
(someone could help you if you dont know how to take your hard drive out, just ask a friend or neigbor if you need to)
I think thats your best option since you cant get your cd drive to boot up on the disk
******
oh found this boot priority page though kaperski's boot disk cd link
have a look that this page to see if your bios setup page is there and if you done it right
http://www.hiren.info/pages/bios-boot-cdrom
if that dont help you can still try shoving your hard drive into another pc
******

I'm 100% a laptop can corrupt itself without any human interaction. You're just an idiot. I've had my Vista laptop since the day Vista came out. Not one problem yet.

if he had a recovery console on his pre-installed he could enter something along the lines of
fixmbr \Device\HardDisk0 perhaps
or just fixmbr
last edit
heres a page with info on how to do that if you got the recovery console installed at the factory
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/termsf/p/fixmbr.htm

LOL, Hilarious. Yes, you're agreeing with him/her but then you call him/her an idiot. So you're calling yourself an idiot. Ahhahahah

well I am on the way to giving up on this and saying buy a new pc or take it to a repair shop since you dont want to slide your hard drive into another pc,
if you got a command prompt.... that flashing curser you can try typin in
dir
press enter see if anything comes up just out of interest,
if it does and your happy with losing any data you got on that drive you can format it with
format c:
that will use the original format style that was used before, then its safe to put into another pc without a possible virus,
but I would really recommend you slaving it into another pc to recover data and repair or reintstall windows,
if you make your admin account passworded and create a limitied user account,
then connect that dead hard drive as a slave, then boot up on that limited user account,
if there is a virus on that hard drive then it wont be able to get onto your other pc's system files or registry without your password,
well I think I have tried plenty ideas over the last couple of days,
time for me to leave it to someone else to come up with some brainstorm

| If you can't use your CD to boot, get a 1 GB flash drive. Copy everything in your windows recovery CD onto the flash drive. Now, stick the flash drive into your USB slot. Start your computer. You should see 'Boot from CD'. Just press enter and now, format your hard drive with the flash drive. Check if your CD works now. If it doesn't, just reinstall windows from the flash drive.

Just a crazy idea, maybe you o'ced. Since some BIOS have protection shit on them, if you o'c too high it'll prevent your PC from booting.
