warn me for this if you have to (offtopic)

im here to ask for a new section that is completely dedicated to hardware;
how to fix problems, suggestions on what to buy, tutorials on certain systems, comp building help, really an endless list!

not only would this topic bring in a new load of members, it would help current members get what they need from the forum; more information on how to do what with their computers or consoles.

i'll make this a poll also (but seriously, dont just put no to be an ass)

(i posted here because it was the most logical way to get your attention; your the only person who moderates here, and its really the 1st section of CEF)

Anyways, I think it would be nice to have a "hardware" section!

Heh, i wrote a program for Regular Xbox to let you know what version you have.
Compatable for versions 1.0 - 1.6b

So you can continue on and get the chip or softmod you need to alter your Xbox.

* If you dont see an attachment, hit refresh.

Here is a couple screens of the program.
The second one is if you go through the steps and your box is looking like a 1.2 or 1.3 version.
Other steps are different then this step. Since it depends on the chips you have in your Xbox.
Main Screen:

On Your way to see if yours is 1.2 or 1.3 using serial number calculation and the table. "Cropped Image" Sorry if you cant see it too well.

i cant use my modded disc because the thompson's laser sucks ass, and cant read it, and its old lol Laughing

Find you a little shop and get a used drive.
There used to be a guy close buy repairing electronics and had i know at least 20 old xbox's with good parts.
