Realtek onboard audio ?

If so, you rly need to install the drivers for it and use the Realtek HD audio manager.

Those things have auto detect for what is plugged into each port.
If you dont install the proper drivers it will poop it's pants.

The static noise you hear is most likely the driver thinking your speakers are a microphone (hence you tapping the plug makes more 'static'.)
