I was wondering if there was a way to use wildcards with 2byte,4byte, and other types of searches when scanning memory?

I have been using "array of byte", but because I'm searching N64 emulator memory, the endians are different than CE's, and it's not in alignment when your search is complete. Quite a few results won't end in 0,4,8, and c when you search this way and are useless.

When searching for a 4byte ASM instruction "3c063f80" and I want to find ASM that holds different values within a range I will use "array of byte", and type "?? 3f 0? 3c" into search - The issue with this is that the addresses will not be aligned with the ASM.

Can wildcards be added to the other types of searches? It would make searches a little more structured when you know what range you are looking for. I think it would be a useful addition to an already great program.

If any of you have other ideas, I'm open to them as well.

No. If you need to use wildcards, search for an array of bytes: it makes more sense.

You are responsible for the endianness of a multibyte value in an AoB search. If you want a big endian integer/float value type, use a custom type (e.g. here).

Use the "fast scan" section in the memory scan options to configure alignment for any type. If you want to only search on a 4-byte alignment, select "Alignment" and put 4 in the editbox.

Thank you so much! the FAST SCAN alignment was something that I dind't understand, and now I feel I have total control over my searches!

I don't understand why the endianess you linked to are not a part of CE natively though. Thanks for those too!
