I recently was messing with Factorio as I've decided I'd like to learn to use Cheat Engine better and since that is the game I currently play the most I thought why not.

But I seem to have an issue with the debugger. Whenever I try to attach the debugger to see what accesses or writes to an address Cheat Engine will freeze up and if I don't do anything the message in the attached image shows. But no matter what I do the debugger does not attach properly.

The only solution I have found so far is to kill Cheat Engine and run it again and keep trying until it works (If I keep trying it sometimes works normally, I'd say maybe 1 out of every 5 or 6 it works the rest it doesn't).

I have checked with other games I own including GTA 5, 7 Days to Die, Stardew Valley, Rimworld, Shadow of Mordor and others and the only game this occurs with is Factorio.

Factorio is the Non-Steam version 0.14.22 64-bit and Cheat Engine is 6.6 64-bit.

EDIT: Also Factorio is not crashing, it continues to run as normal when the debugger message pops up and also my system is not slow I have:

CPU: i7 6700k @4.2Ghz
RAM: 8Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 @2133Mhz
GPU: Nvidia GTX 780ti 3GB

Any suggestions on getting the debugger to behave normally with this game please?

This problem occur's to me as well,
You can attach to the game when trying at first but when you try to attach the debugger.. it times out so when trying for the second time it does work.
but after doing some stuff pointerscans's etc etc you close the game and reopen it, now it gets funny once you attach ce to the game this time, ce itself crashes and yes the debugging stopped once i closed the game.
okay so you would think... alright restart CE, but nvm i received an BSOD "APC_INDEX_MISMATCH"
now i searched somewhat one google and found an interesting thing at github:
Quote:
Some processes just will not work.
It may be because they are programmed without keeping in mind that some functions can return before the wait is finished

So if i read it right, CE has some trouble handling Factorio.
