Been using CE for a long time, never had a problem with it

But the 6.5.1 installer just went not-responding and my AV also got stuck with "scanning", tried again and it also froze

I was using CE 6.4 before i saw the new update

I just installed CE 6.5 and that worked fine with no problems

Just wanna bring this to attention since I don't think the problem is on my end

Make sure you're downloading it from the main site.

The problem is your antivirus, but I won't bother arguing over it since that has been done many times on these forums with few (if any) valid counterarguments.

Disable your antivirus, run the installer, make sure you don't install any bundleware (yes you can opt out of everything), and let it install CE.

i really wonder why people don't think their AV is the problem even when their AVs gets stuck. Man, AV companies are the most lucky ones in the world, their support probably gets praises for their products and complaints FOR other programs.. never their own.

But yeah its like ParkourPenguin said. Get rid of that trash, AVs are known to go haywire with one byte change - that's probably why new CE won't install.
