alloc doesn't search for bytes in memory. i assume you are talking about aobscan. if so then the script would not toggle on, you will experience a slight pause in CE as it searches for the aob.
if it's really alloc you're talking about, it calls windows api to allocate dynamic memory so i don't think it can fail...worst case scenario if you run out of ram, windows would just write the current memory to disk cache and free up some memory to be used instead.
