Hi, I am interested in writing a bot for flappy bird where it will calculate when to jump based on the bird coordinate and the pipe position. (Hobby purpose)
flappybird(dot)io <----- website HTML5 Flappy Bird
Since the game only consist of a bird and pipes, I feel that there definitely are the bird's and pipes' coordinates.
I used cheat engine to scan for the score and managed to change the score with ease. But I couldn't get the bird coordinate. I chose new scan for ALL (2 bytes, 4bytes etc.) of unknown value and scanned for the increased/decreased value by changing the bird position and still can't find the coordinate. Can anyone guide me? Thanks

Well, The Game is HTML5, so you could probably read the source directly.
As for using cheat engine...
Finding Bird wil be just y coord changes, wont be that hard to find I guess.
For the pipes, I'd search for functions that get called when you run into a pipe.
So 1) Find Value that changes when gameover 2) Find out what accesses this address. Disassemble Code. And Dissect Code to figure out where the gameover function is called. Set Breakpoints during the process.. Maybe try finding pipes by height, once you found one you can find the others by using the dissassembler, following the code back to see where they are generated / drawn... Comparing that to your bird position and you get the base for a bot.

Hi thank you for responding. However, I am just curious why cheat engine can't find the Y value? Why does my method of doing doesn't work? I searched increased/decreased value and it does not seem to return the Y value.
I think I am targeting the right processor as I managed to change the score.

Perhaps it's an inverted axis
E.g perhaps the top is position 0 and the further down you go the position increases
Or worse, perhaps it goes from -1 to +1 where 0 is center
