Some AVs regard GameGuard to be a keylogger!
I like how they call it an "anti-cheating root toolkit" on the Wikipedia page

Well TheGeekAndrew, I think it could be an anti-cheat embedded in the game you're trying to attach Cheat Engine to that is causing your computer to crash.

What you could do is try to use an encrypted version of the software. Quite possibly, an undetectable version of Cheat Engine.
