|
|
I've attached what it looks like below.
Things I've tried to fix it are change the OS Font Size and that did absolutely nothing. The amount of which text is cut out scales with the system font so my font settings have absolutely nothing to do with it. I also tried using the portable version of CE and the result was the same.
Changing screen resolution also did nothing. Stretching the windows did nothing. Uninstalling and installing did absolutely nothing.
I've gotten used to it, but it's just really really annoying, especially when I am trying to change certain settings as I can't see what I am doing.
Thanks

Cheat Engine looks best at a DPI of 96 (scale factor 100%)
"Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display"
Alternatively, try rightclicking the exe, go to properties, compatibility tab
and check "disable display scaling"

Yeah I've tried that too and still nothing. Where text cuts off is exactly the same regardless of which DPI I use.
Any other solutions?

Reboot after changing font size to smaller(100%). Doing it runtime doesn't always properly work

Yeah that still doesn't do the trick either. It looks exactly the same as it does in that screenshot after trying all of the above.
Is DPI the only thing it could be because even upscaling the DPI changes nothing with how it looks (I expected it to screw up even more).

Could be one of the accessibility options overriding the DPI setting?

I'm not exactly sure by what you mean by this. I am the administrator if that's what you are getting at. I also made sure that the disable DPI scaling for CE itself was properly recorded in the registry.
I've attached what it looks like at 96DPI. Perhaps it is normal, but from what I've seen in YouTube videos it certainly doesn't look so choppy as mine does.

Right-click on your desktop, select 'personalize'. Click on 'window color' at the bottom. Click on 'Advanced appearance settings...'. Go through the Item list and make sure your font sizes are all set to 9.
If that doesn't work...
Uninstall CE and remove any CE entries from registry...reinstall CE, reboot etc. Change your theme to test.
It is obvious that your font sizes are wrong just by looking at them:

I changed all the fonts to size 9, uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted and changed themes to make sure the font was smaller (I can confirm this did change my font size) but CE still has an issue.
I don't think windows is at fault here.

Maybe look at this, or other registry settings.

not to reanimate a dead thread, but im haing the same problem, im using the higher dpi on my desktop because i cant read anything otherwise, and everything gives me a migraine. All other programs adjust fine, its odd this cant handle the changes, and auto adjust. Is there anythign else i can do. There are some options on cheat engine that are completly unsuable because they are hidden behind other options.
