Sorry about that. it looks like the /d2 (somoto) install provider made a modification to the installer to make it really obfuscated. I'll contact them about it (And stuff like this is why that specific installer only has a fraction of the traffic)

There's the d1 download which uses opencandy (I prefer them more as they're more clear)

If your "crappy AV" does NOT have an ignore option, save cheat engine in a Compressed (Zip) folder, and it will not be deleted.

Oh and yes, check what it's detected as. If it's detected as a hack.tool, or Cheatengine.hacktool, or anything close to that, ignore it. If you have a behavior blocker, (Ex: ThreatFire) GG.

Wow, ESET blocked the setup. Also, the "reputation" in "ESET live grid" said it was risky. So I disabled protection and ran a scan, but it found nothing. Good job ESET.

Why do you guys insist on using crap, by judging that it's good only because it has the shiniest, coolest ad?

I reality, what most of you have, are "corporate based", meaning, they will scan your files in your, hopefully "corporation", analyze if anything unwanted has happened repeatedly in your, hopefully several computers in your household and after every 2-3 months release a signature update to block new, suspicious files. So the signature update you are getting currently is actually meant for blocking viruses that came to life 2-3 months ago. And of course, sig based scanning is getting useless, since they overlap and cause a lot of mess. Not talking about what useless info does heuristic scan give, e.g.: "packed with MEW" or "packed with UPX" (- harmless EXE compressor only to reduce executable's size) or just "HEUR" (- way too general term, no real info about malicious processes is actually given).
Since computers are pretty fast now, a regular virus needs about 10 minutes of use of your computer to infect 35 000+ others. Just imagine the damage that will be caused in 2-3 months. Even if your AV finds it, it's not guaranteed that it will actually remove it.
Those "popular" and "coolest looking" anti-viruses earn $$$$ mainly from advertisement. They advertise a lot and they help advertise a lot. And no professional security is actually involved. No self-defense against viruses, not even professional virus removal scripts. The end user, client is treated as royalty - everything to make you to download and even buy it. After you have downloaded and/or bought it, you will be reduced to trash.
That's why you have your crappy AV that gives you a lot of false negatives and barely survives to protect itself, not talking about ever protecting You.

It's only a one time suggestion during install. It will only download it if the checkbox to install it is checked. (If it installs even without it being checked let me know)

Well, dunno what was up, when I tried running it the first time, Rundll32 or something crashed, and nothing showed up on the screen except the back/next/cancel buttons. I hit next, because back was greyed out, and it installed it.

When i try to download the cet the browser tells me the server is not available in different browsers...anyone an idea? Firewall is off as well as av.

I use cheat engine since I was 9 years old, if it had virus I would know, because I dont have 9 years old since 2004.
